19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.
His defensive strategy and regular reactions on court had led some to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.
Moutet defended four initial opportunities in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he clinched victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
